If you are not in a position to donate financial or material assets, you can donate by volunteering.  Volunteering means donating your time for a particular cause.

In the broadest sense, the word “volunteering” means voluntary contribution to the community (and society in general) without receiving payment for that.  For instance, as a volunteer you can help in the organization of some charity event, become engaged in an organization which helps the animals, participate actively in the action for collecting clothes for homeless people, help in the implementation of activities within the municipality, civil society organizations and other non-profit institutions etc.  In addition, you should do this voluntarily, on your own will, without expecting any compensation whatsoever for it.

In accordance with the law, the term “volunteer” refers to a person who offers their personal services, knowledge and skills for the benefit of other persons, organizations or institutions, voluntarily and without compensation.
