Konekt Bazar 2023

Citizens and businesses donated over 2 million denars in the Days of Donations campaign and successfully established the first philanthropic donor fund

Skopje, 02.12.2023 – Within the framework of the USAID project Partnerships for Giving, the fund-raising campaign Days of Donations was held for the past two months. This campaign supported 31 non-profit organizations and involved 50 businesses that donated 2,017,212 denars in financial resources, goods and services, and volunteer work. This allowed Konekt’s team to establish the country’s first philanthropic donor fund. Over 2,100 citizens, organizations, and companies joined the first national campaign of this kind and jointly created opportunities for every citizen and company to invest in a better future in our country.

To sum up the campaign, the final event was organized, which was envisaged as a Charity Bazaar where the attendees had the opportunity to acquire interesting handcrafted and/or holiday products from 12 social enterprises through a given donation.

On that occasion, the USAID Country Representative for the Republic of North Macedonia, Mrs. Jeri Dible, emphasized: “Fostering domestic capacity to advance the country’s social and economic stability in multi-ethnic democracy is a priority for the United States. We see the value and return on investment in this as we partner with you to cultivate a culture of giving and encourage community-level actions and investments. We truly believe that engaged philanthropy is vital to advancing democratic values.”

This occasion was used to give recognition and thanks to the music stars, fashion designers, companies, and donors who selflessly supported the Days of Donations fund-raising campaign and made it possible to launch the first donor fund in our country.

“The success of the Days of Donations fund-raising campaign would not be possible without the selfless support of the donors. We established the first philanthropic donor fund where the donations of citizens and businesses are combined to support non-profit organizations that change the life in our communities”, said the Executive Director of Konekt, Ms. Nikica Kusinikova.

The event was held within the USAID project Partnerships for Giving implemented by Konekt in partnership with the European Center for Not-for-Profit Law, the Economic Chamber of North-West Macedonia, Indigo, and the American Chamber of Commerce in North Macedonia.
